What Do You Think?

Hey, all!

I’m going to participate in the January blogging challenge WordPress is hosting, and I can’t decide if I should start a personal blog, like back when we all still used LiveJournal (I miss those days!), or do it on this blog, even though what I wrote most likely won’t have anything to do with my healing work.

What do you think? Should a “business” website focus solely on that, or is unrelated stuff ok?

Much love,

Pip 🌻✨

PS: are any of you going to do the challenge, too?

PPS: Bloganuary? Really? Not JanBlog or BlogJan…something easier to spell and say? 😂

  1. I’m kind of two minds about it, and have heard mixed advice. On one hand I’ve heard that closely related, topical posts stay ‘on brand’ and lend a professional quality to the blog, but on the other hand, off-topic posts are humanizing and build a warmer relationship with your audience. Ever since I pulled that Hermit card for the blog this morning, I have this niggling feeling that the energy now is to isolate important things…treasures sacred to us are not for public consumption….almost an energy like that thing about birthday candle wishes – if you say what it is it won’t come true. Whether it is strictly on topic or wildly off topic like the “kittenwhiskers” posts, I find it helpful to 1. Use the wordpress categories to help me stay organized if nothing else 2. Lable, title or state outright when a post veers off topic 3. Keep off topic to a friendly minimum and 4. Always remember that a blog is public and functionally publishing platform, meaning my privacy is number one on my list of privacies to protect. Have you seen any good SEO advice about that sort of thing?

      I have not (re SEO).
You’ve given me a lot to think about; I’m going to sit with this for a while and ponder the direction I want to take. Xiexie!

I think you should do whatever feels right to you. I am not doing any challenge, cause I cannot imagine how anyone manages to do a post every single day. Actually, I don’t know what this challenge is, but still…..

There’s a prompt every day to get the creative juices running.
